Raja Ravi Verma
He was a green patch in the desert of painting in India. He learns western oil painting from Theodore Johnson who was of European portraits painter. Raja Ravi Verma started painting Glimess of Indian life in oil in western style he was an inhabitant Travancore and use to learn something from the European artist and painted landscape and portraits both. After the death of Raja Ravi Verma the style came to an end as it was full European and as he could only copy the western art.
Raja Ravi Verma paintings were based on religion and ancient stories without soul in them with a little dramatic in nature so the public could not appreciate them.
