MUGHAL PERIOD
The Mugal School was not a new style in itself but it was the same Rajasthani School well defined and polished by the pursian effect. As the Mugal were great lover of art and much impressed by Rajasthani School a new style of painting was developed by the miner of Rajasthani and Persian style known as Mugal School. A Chinese effect and Byzantine art effect is also visible in this art. Although the painting developed under the patronage of the Tamoor ruler desting in Bukara and Samar kund.
Babar was from Tamoor family who established Mugal rule in India and had a great liking for painting. Humayun, the son of Babar, who lived with Shah Tasmashp of Tabraz for one year where he was introduced to two painter of Binzad School namely Meer Saiyad Aliof Tabraz and Khwaja Abdullamad of Sheeraz. Later on both these artists came to Kabul in court of Humayun, though these artist he got the painting of Desan-E-Ameer Hamza done which was not complete in his life time. He died in 1555 A.D. and left his son Akbar on the thrown of Delhi as his successor.
Desan-E-Ameer Hamza continued in the region of Akbar. According to Akbar I of Abul Fazal, about 1400 events have been painted out during that period of which few are available now. After akbar’s sulkup policy based on secular idealism, the paintings based its climax in the region of Jahangir Shah Jahan was mostly interested in architecture. So paintings saw down fall in his region, Mugal school of painting came to a stop in the region of Aurangzab as he was a fanatic muslim.
