Pre-Historic Age
The origin of art has been taken in one form or the other right from the development of human life. Ma was interested in art thousands of years back when he used to live in caves. The stone weapons and tools of that age give us that clue as the first progenitor used the tool and weapon made of stones. That age is known as Stone Age this age is divided into three parts.
(1) Paleolithic age: - 400000-100000 B.C.
(2) Mesolithic age: - 10000-3000 B.C.
(3) 4500-300 B.C.
The quest of Pre-historic paintings
The first of all the British’s who comes to rules in India started with a curositic to understand our culture and art. On the basis of known facts John Cockburn and Archibal Carleyleyle can be given the credit of having traced the carved painting. They discovered the carved painting of camoor hill in Vindhiya Ranges near Mirzapur in 1880. Here the painting if the hunting’s of stag, (deer) buck and Rhinoceros are found. Cock Burt also found the paintings of many animals at Harin-Haram near Vijaygarh Fort. Here there is a painting of a Rhinocero’s on which six men are attaking with spears other caves found by them were at Mirzapur, Chamar, Pabhasa, Chitrakoot. He was of the opinion that painting in the Southern side were the best. Two types of painting were also found at MarKandi and Manjhavan in Banda district. Many books published by different britishes to discover different caves at different places with different sketch of the cave paintings.
